02 / FIND YOUR FLOW

From your first drift to your chosen line.

Select one of three driving modes from the transmitter to match your experience and driving space. Start gently, then progress toward more precise control.

EASY 01

EasyFind your feel for drifting.

Gentler steering and reduced output help you learn. Drift Assist initiates the slide, supporting your first constant-radius drifts.

For first-time drivers

MILD 02

MildSmooth arcs. Flowing drifts.

Smooths rough inputs for cleaner arcs. Well suited to drifting on larger courses.

For larger courses

RESPONSIVE 03

ResponsiveFollow your chosen line.

Direct response to steering input makes it easier to follow your chosen line through tighter corners.

For tighter corners

DRIFT ASSIST

Start the slide with one pull.

In Easy Mode, pulling the trigger fully briefly increases power to initiate a drift. Power then returns automatically to the normal level, helping limit spins and maintain the slide.

OVERBOOST

Turn up the excitement.

Enable Overboost in Mild or Responsive Mode for extra power while the button behind the trigger is held.

Avoid continuous use: it increases heat and stress on the motor, batteries and drivetrain.

03 / TUNE YOUR DRIFT

Your drift. Your settings.

Adjust gyro gain and steering dual rate using the transmitter. Connect wirelessly to a smartphone for more detailed control over the feel of your chassis.

07 / CHASSIS ENGINEERING

Compact chassis. Fully equipped for drifting.

MRD RTD front wheels at a large steering angle

01 / STEERING ANGLE

More steering angle. Deeper drifts.

A generous steering angle provides the counter-steer needed for deep drift angles, bringing authentic drifting to a compact chassis.

Dedicated five-wire MRD RTD steering servo

02 / DEDICATED STEERING SERVO

Precise, smooth counter-steering.

A dedicated steering servo delivers precise, smooth counter-steering. Its five-wire design allows detailed adjustment of steering behavior through the smartphone app.

130-size black motor with standard overcurrent protection fuse

03 / 130-SIZE BLACK MOTOR

Easy control. Powerful performance.

The 130-size black motor is tuned for drifting, balancing easy control with strong power. A fuse is fitted as standard to provide overcurrent protection.

Front double-wishbone suspension with ride-height dial adjusters

04 / FRONT SUSPENSION

Supple suspension. Stable drifting.

Long-travel front double-wishbone suspension follows uneven surfaces to support stable drifting. Dial adjusters allow fine ride-height adjustments.

MRD RTD rear suspension with long arms and rigid axle

05 / REAR SUSPENSION & AXLE

Rear-end stability, with room to tune.

Long rear suspension arms, double-wishbone suspension and a rigid axle deliver stable, controllable drifts. Optional suspension arms let you move the axle position forward or backward to change rear-tire traction characteristics and explore different setups.

Integrated ES-RES001GB receiver, motor, servo and gyro control unit

06 / ES-RES001GB CONTROL UNIT

Integrated control, built for drifting.

The purpose-built ES-RES001GB combines receiver, motor, servo and gyro control with wireless smartphone connectivity. Coordinated, high-speed control delivers enjoyable drifting for beginners and experienced drivers alike. A connector also allows commercially available LED lights to be fitted.

09 / QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Can beginners enjoy drifting?

Easy Mode and Drift Assist help first-time drivers get started. Practice basic control at low speed, then move on to constant-radius drifting. As your skills develop, try Mild or Responsive Mode for driving along a course.

What else do I need to start driving?

You will need a compatible body and body mount, four AAA alkaline batteries for the transmitter, and four AAA alkaline or NiMH batteries for the chassis. Prepare 0.9 mm and 1.5 mm hex drivers and nippers for preparation and adjustment. Rechargeable batteries also require a suitable charger.

How long can I drive on a set of batteries?

With either alkaline or NiMH batteries, driving time is approximately 40–60 minutes depending on the surface, and may exceed 60 minutes under some conditions.

Are wheels and tires included?

Yes. Wheels and tires are pre-installed on the chassis. Additional narrow wheels and narrow drift tires are included to reduce the rear width. Depending on your chosen body, you may need to purchase wheels with a suitable width or offset.

Which bodies can I use?

The chassis accommodates suitable commercially available 1/27–1/28 scale RC car bodies. Check body width, wheelbase, wheel arches and mounting points. Dimensions alone do not guarantee fit: body thickness and shape may prevent installation. Plastic model bodies require work such as making custom body mounts.

Can I change the wheelbase?

The standard wheelbase is 94 mm. Included parts allow conversion to 90, 98 or 102 mm. Separately sold parts are required for 86 or 106 mm.

How much space do I need?

For your first drive, allow an obstacle-free area approximately 2–3 meters square. Speed and sliding behavior depend on the surface. This model is for indoor use only. Drifting can scratch the floor; do not drive on surfaces that must remain unmarked.

Do I need a smartphone to drive?

The included transmitter handles normal driving, selection of the three driving modes, gyro gain and steering dual rate. A smartphone is used for more detailed settings. Android is supported; the iPhone version is under development.

Can I use a Futaba T10PX or 4PM Plus, or a FlySky NB-4 transmitter?

These transmitters are not currently supported, but we are developing support so they can be used to control the MRD RTD. Support is expected to be ready by the product’s release. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Why does Easy Mode feel slower?

This is intentional. Easy Mode uses slower steering response and reduced motor output to help beginners learn the feel of drifting. For following a course, try Mild or Responsive Mode.

The chassis LED flashes blue quickly and the car will not move.

Gyro initialization may not be complete. Place the chassis on a flat, vibration-free surface and keep it still while you wait. Once the chassis LED changes from rapidly flashing blue to solid red, the car is ready to operate.

How do I activate Overboost?

Select Mild or Responsive Mode and enable Overboost with the BIND button. Pull the throttle trigger fully to press the button behind it. Boost remains active while the button is held. Avoid continuous use because it increases heat and stress on the motor, batteries and drivetrain.

Why does the transmitter LED turn off after inactivity?

After five minutes without input, the transmitter enters sleep mode. Turn its power off and then on again to resume use.

Where can I find setup help and spare parts?

Use the MRD RTD Setup Information and Spare & Option Parts links below for setup guidance and replacement or upgrade parts.
